Home In Bellingham’s Most Popular Senior Park
If being close to the hospital, shopping and dining is important, you probably already know about James Street Estates.
This park was built in 1989 and 1990. Shortly after, the residents bought the park to protect it from future development. When a new owner purchases, they buy the park share which is held in trust and reimbursed to them upon their subsequent sale. It keeps the monthly fee very low – just $150 per month which includes water, sewer, garbage and basic cable.
The park values have increased steadily and now even in this slow market are holding values well.
This particular home has been updated with new flooring and is freshly painted. The owners installed beautiful Corian counters in the spacious kitchen. It’s light and bright with 3 bedrooms and 2 baths. The master bedroom is large with ample closet space and a well-planned bath with soaking tub and separate shower.
The living room is large and there is a dining area plus a breakfast area off the kitchen. A separate laundry room also houses the new gas furnace. The current owners replaced the furnace and added air-conditioning for year around confort.

There is a detached finished studio/workshop for crafts, hobbies or storage just a couple steps from the back door. Raised beds in the side and back yard give the gardener some space to grow flowers and vegetables in the otherwise low maintanence yard.
One advantage of this lot is plenty of guest parking. There is a covered carport for one car and room for at least 4 additional vehicles to park.
Any residents I have talked to just love this park. If you travel or leave for the winter as many residents do, you can feel secure in knowing that everyone looks out for one another.
